In 2021, the KK Collection added another jewel to its portfolio by taking over the management of The Villa Bentota. Originally the grand colonial ancestral home known as Mohotti Walauwe, the property was remodelled in the 1970s by the celebrated Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, who transformed it into one of the country’s first boutique hotels. Today, it remains one of the most historic villas in Bentota closely associated with Bawa’s legacy.
