Visit a marine turtle sanctuary

The west coast of Sri Lanka are vital nesting grounds for five of the world’s seven species of marine turtles. Turtles instinctively return to their natal beach to lay their eggs. Left unprotected, this practice puts their entire species at risk – from poachers, coastal erosion and development. On this visit you’ll learn about the life cycle of a turtle, the threats they face and the measures being taken to protect them for future generations.
